Shmemel is a 10 members band, featuring a lead vocalist, guitars, drums, keyboards and a 4 men brass section.
Since 2007 they had been travelling all around Israel and beyond, playing various venues, events and festivals.

The Shmemel genre is somewhere between Groove-Rock-Funk-Balkan-Jewish with a Middle Eastern twist.

The texts are satiric and humorous, dealing with significant social issues that we all live through on daily basis. Each song has a creative solution, all with a smile and a lesson.

Shmemel's shows are known to be a non stop entertainment for the audience, with a repertoire which is a rich mix of original songs, cover versions in Hebrew and English, some good old Israeli songs with a groovy flavor and even classic 60's-70's American/British hits.

Upon request Shmemel can also offer tailored and themed shows for occasions such as Jewish holidays (Hanukkah, Passover, Purim), Zionism and Sabbath, as some of the songs and cover versions they perform are dealing with these themes.
